👋 Welcome! I’m building Physical AI that learns and adapts in the real world.
I am an Associate Research Officer at National Research Council Canada. I earned my Ph.D. at the University of Waterloo, advised by Amir Khajepour and Yash Vardhan Pant, then joined the Mechatronic Vehicle Systems Lab as a postdoctoral fellow.
My work connects academic research with hands-on engineering: co-founding LoopX, leading AMR development at Reel-In Robotics, and developing production vehicle software at NIO and SAIC Motor. I previously studied at Beijing Institute of Technology.
01 / RESEARCH
Learning brings adaptation and contextual understanding; model-based priors ground it in physics, explicit constraints, and feedback. I bring these strengths together across perception, decision-making, and action.
Learning-based planning and control for articulated heavy-duty and off-road vehicles
Improving heavy-vehicle safety under challenging road and weather conditions.
DriveLLM: Explainable Driving Decisions
Language-model reasoning with rule-based safety checks for explainable driving decisions, evaluated through WATonobus case studies.
Learning-based multi-agent collaboration
Cooperating agents and learned negotiation initialization for plug-and-play vehicle control and faster multi-objective MPC.
Learning-based MPC
Online Gaussian-process dynamics learning with stochastic MPC, tested on real vehicles under changing and low-friction conditions.
F1TENTH: World Models for Agile Racing
Ongoing exploration of multimodal world models for agile planning and control on an autonomous racing platform with vision and LiDAR.
XLeRobot: Generative Mobile Manipulation
Ongoing work on generative mobile manipulation with action-chunking policies, world-action models, and vision-language-action models.
